James C. Sowinski, P.E.: About the Author

Jim Sowinski is one of the founding members of The Equity Engineering Group, Inc. He serves on several ASME committees including the BPV VIII Standards Committee and is currently the chair of the Subgroup on Design. He performs fitness-for-service (FFS) evaluations to extend equipment life, design and analysis of pressure-containing equipment to evaluate mechanical integrity and performs pressure vessel and heat exchanger code compliance and re-rate calculations. Mr. Sowinski is the technical lead for the pressure vessel section of company engineering practices. He is an instructor of the API FFS training course and has developed and instructed ASME VIII-1 and ASME VIII-2 training courses. Mr. Sowinski is the primary author of ASME example problem manuals, ASME PTB-3-2022 and ASME PTB-4-2021.
