Brent Ray got his start in RBI in 2004 when he started attending the API 580, API 581, and API RBI User Group meetings to gain more knowledge. He served as the API 581 task chairman from 2011 to 2018, leading the group to the publishing of the 3rd Edition and providing a vision for the 4th Edition. He is currently the chairman of the API Sub-Committee on Inspection & Mechanical Integrity (SCIMI) and is leading the API 580 task group for the next revision. Mr. Ray holds a BS degree in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Kentucky, with minors in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. He holds certifications in API 510, 570, 571, 577, 580, 653, and TES. His is also certified with Level II NDE, RTFI, CWI, and NBIC (I,S) and has held a PE license.
