Rob Frater is a Senior Mechanical Plant Engineer for Engineering & Inspection Services, LLC (EIS) currently working in the Pressure Equipment Integrity group at Motiva Enterprises’ Shell Norco Refinery. During his tenure at several major refineries, Rob has been a mechanical contact engineer for Tank farms, Docks, LPG Storage, LPG Bulk, Loading Rack, Interconnecting Pipe, offsites, CCR Reformer unit, Cat Feed Hydrotreater unit, GHU unit, Boiler house and Aromatics complex. He has served as lead engineer for API 653 tank outages, Flare and Sulfur turnarounds, Aromatics turnarounds, has developed equipment strategies for equipment outages and driven maintenance projects for various process units according to ASME Section VIII and B31.3 requirements. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
