Dana Schmidt: About the Author
Standards Engineer, STI/SPFA


Dana Schmidt Dana Schmidt develops standards, conducts research, and develops new and improved aboveground and underground tank technologies. Dana has extensive experience working with Underwriters Laboratories and other listing organizations in maintaining STI's Listings and the development of new designs. Dana is the STI/SPFA liaison with the API Sub-committee on Aboveground Storage Tanks and serves on the API Task Group updating the API 12 Series documents. She was also the staff liaison for the consensus committee charged with the development of the STI Standards SP001 and SP031. Dana graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois.
